Here's what Alistair Moffat, author of the new book, "The British: A Genetic Journey" has to say about L21 (known also as S145):  "It probably originated in Iberia and southwest France but it is found at a very high frequency in the modern population of Ireland at 67% of all men and at 45% in Scotland.  By contrast, in England it falls to 20%.".
